This Associate of Arts transfer degree is designed for students transferring to Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, the University of Iowa, or Clarke University to study Education. Requirements may vary at other institutions so students should become familiar with the specific course requirements of the four-year institution to which they plan to transfer.

Program Graduation Requirements
To earn a Secondary Education AA Transfer Major, a student must complete all required coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Option 1 - Select 1 Credit

- ENG 106 - Composition II Credits: 3
- EDU 218 - Initial Field Experience Credits: 2
- Select 3-4 credits in AA Degree Core Science with Lab . Recommended: BIO 104 , CHM 105 , CHM 122 , PHS 152 , PHS 166 , PHY 106 . Check with your transfer institution for preferred credits Credits: 3-4
- Select 3-4 credits in AA Degree Core Math or Science . Recommended: BIO 104 ,CHM 105 , CHM 122 , MAT 156 , PHS 152 , PHS 166 , PHY 106 Check with your transfer institution for preferred credits.
- Select 3 credits from AA Degree Distributed . Recommended: Check with your transfer institution for preferred credits Credits: 3
- Select 3 credits from all DMACC credits. Recommended: Check with your transfer institution for preferred credits Credits: 3
Note:
Complete 3 semester credit hours to satisfy the Diversity Requirement with a minimum grade of “C.” The Diversity Requirement does not increase the number of credits required for graduation. The course used to fulfill the Diversity Requirement may also be used to fulfill three credits of Core requirements in Communications, Social & Behavioral Sciences, Humanities or Distributed Requirements, providing the diversity course is listed as fulfilling Core requirements in Communications, Social & Behavioral Sciences or the Humanities. If the course does not fall under any of the Core groups, the course used to fulfill the Diversity Requirement may count as an elective. Total Credits Required to Complete this Award - 64
