	- Institutional Regulations
 
	 
	An Iowa resident who is not a registered student or current staff member may use the DMACC Library resources through the State of Iowa Open Access Program. 
	  
	- Procedure
	
		- Borrowing DMACC Library Materials
		
			- Library Card - Community members may request a DMACC Library card in person and must provide one of the following:
			
				- a current library card from their local participating library OR
 
				- proof of residence within the service area of their local participating library (i.e., driver’s license, recent utility bills, etc.) OR
 
				- verification of enrollment in a participating academic institution. Community members will be issued a DMACC Library Card that will be valid for 1 year.
 
			 
			 
			- Limits and Loan Periods - DMACC Libraries sets loan periods and borrowing limits bases on several factors. See the Library website for more information on borrowing limits and loan periods.
 
		 
		 
		- Inter-Library Loan
 
		Community patrons may not request items via Inter-Library Loan. 
		- Fines/Lost Items
 
		Charges for lost/damaged/overdue items will be assessed in the same manner as for DMACC students; see BS5834 . Outstanding charges may result in the loss of library privileges. 
		- All other College and Library policies will apply to community patrons as appropriate.
