  1. Institutional Regulations

    All new Regular employees shall participate in the College employee orientation process to ensure that they have timely information regarding their employment responsibilities and College services and benefits.
     
  2. Procedure
    1. New Non-Faculty employees are required to attend in person orientation provided by Human Resources within the first 30 days of employment. These orientation sessions shall provide an overview of the College and of policies and procedures that relate to employment with the College.

      Human Resources shall provide information to new non-faculty on how to participate in orientation. Supervisors shall receive a copy of the information and shall ensure that employees complete orientation as required.
    2. New Faculty are required to attend New Faculty Orientation provided by Academic Affairs within the first year of employment.
    3. Human Resources shall assign a new hire checklist to each new employee through the Onboard system. Supervisors, or their designee, shall ensure all items and training on the checklist are completed within required timelines. An acknowledgment of completion shall be maintained in the employee’s personnel file in Human Resources.
    4. Supervisors shall provide on the job training to new employees, introducing them to the work place, their work unit, and their job responsibilities. They shall also ensure that all new employees receive appropriate technical orientations (e.g. telephone system, computer system, e-mail, etc.).
    5. Other new employee meetings may be scheduled during the year as needed.
    6. Employees are required to complete all assigned orientation and onboarding items within required timelines. Employees who do not complete orientation and/or onboarding items as assigned may be subject to discipline.
