  1. Institutional Regulations

    The College shall comply with state and federal food regulations controlling the areas in which food and beverages are dispensed.
     
  2. Procedure
    1. Physical Plant will designate buildings or specified areas of buildings where food and beverages may be consumed. They are:
      1. Building 5 Room
        • 33-Snack Bar Room
        • 38-Lounge Room
        • 47-Game Room
      2. Building 7 - Entire Building
      3. Building 15 - Vending area
      4. Uncarpeted hallways of buildings 1,2,3E,3W,4,5,7,8,9,10, 13,14, Boone, Carroll, Urban.
      5. Newton Lounge
      6. Boone - LW Courter Center
      7. Urban - Lounge
      8. Carroll - Lounge
      9. No Food or drink in gyms, except on special events
      10. Rooms in buildings designated as conference rooms.
      11. Private offices
    2. Student clubs and organizations may dispense food and beverages in uncarpeted areas and outside of buildings.
      1. An “Activity Approval Permit” Form must be submitted to and approved by the Student Activities Office prior to the activity. This form will be posted at the immediate site of the activity.
      2. The following list of items may be dispensed:
        1. Baked goods and candies.
        2. Pre-packaged items
        3. Hot and cold beverages, if dispensed with food items
      3. The sponsoring club or organization is responsible for clean up, including the proper disposal of refuse, sweeping and mopping if necessary. Physical Plant will charge a cleaning fees to the sponsoring group, if facilities are not properly cleaned.
    3. For special program events for serving food and drink in Restricted areas, written notice of scheduled event must be submitted to and approved by the Director of Physical Plant no less than two weeks before the scheduled event No food or beverages are to be dispensed or consumed in any classroom, auditorium, or laboratory by those who rent the areas.
    4. Signs prohibiting food and beverage consumption shall be placed in conspicuous locations in all rooms in which food and beverages may not be dispensed or consumed. Signs shall be compatible with all uniform college signage. Instructors teaching in these areas are required to enforce these rules.
