- Signs will be used to provide pertinent information regarding building location, room location, special event location, program location, or a function relevant to an approved oncampus activity.
- The department holding a special event will order special event roadway signs from the Marketing and Media Relations Department, and deliver to the Physical Plant Office or have the Physical Plant pick up signage when ready to post. Control and maintenance of the signage system is the responsibility of the Executive Director, Physical Plant.
- Procedure
- A general campus and building signage system, based on approved specifications, will be maintained to promote orderly traffic and pedestrian flow regarding campus roadways, sidewalks, and in buildings.
- Each building shall contain an official directory and bulletin board for posting of official college notices. Individuals specifically designated by the Student and Alumni Activities shall maintain these postings and notices.
- Each building shall also include at least one bulletin board for posting of unofficial postings.
- Each unofficial posting must conform to the signage policy. Nonconforming signage will be removed and destroyed.
- Each unofficial posting will be made on bulletin boards or tack strips. Do not use tape, glue, or materials that may cause damage to finished wall surfaces.
- Signage within each classroom or lab will consist of ‘Emergency Procedures’ signs, ‘Building Evacuation Map” signs, and signage or postings approved by the Executive Director, Physical Plant.
