BS5004 - Matching Funds Procedures

A. Employees who manage federally-funded projects will follow the cost guidelines set forth in 2CFR Part 200. The Director of Sponsored Project Accounting and/or the Director, Grants and Contracts, will review all claims for matching funds to ensure they comply with funder rules.
B. All costs claimed as match for sponsored projects must be reasonable and allocable, and must comply with all funder rules and regulations. Those rules include, but are not limited to, the following criteria:
- Are verifiable from project records.
- Are not included as contributions for any other Federally-assisted project or program.
- Are necessary and reasonable for proper and efficient accomplishment of project or program objectives.
- Are allocable, allowable, and attributable under the applicable cost principles.
- Are not paid by the Federal Government under another award, except where authorized by Federal statute to be used for cost sharing or matching.
