BD2041 - Board Chair and Vice Chair Duties Procedure

The Board chair’s duties:
- The chair shall be the official spokesperson for the Board
- The chair or designee shall sign checks, warrants, drafts, and all orders provided by law, and shall sign all contracts approved by the Board.
- The chair shall appear on behalf of the college in all actions brought by or against it unless personally a party in a lawsuit, in which case the vice chair shall perform this duty.
- In addition to duties prescribed by law, the chair shall exercise such powers as may be delegated by the Board, and inform members of official information and documents related to their activities.
The vice chair shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the chair, and in the chair’s absence shall serve as temporary chair, performing duties and exercising the powers of the chair.
