CRR 523 - Paint Correction & Detailing Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 4 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech This course covers paint correction issues, sanding and buffing fresh and aged paint. The expectations customers have for their vehicle after repairs have been completed. Cleaning interior and exterior components of vehicles will also be covered in this class. Prerequisite: CRR 150 Competencies
- Demonstrate proper paint correction techniques
- Show proper selection of abrasives to remove orange peel, dirt and any imperfections
- Show proper selection and use of polishes and buffers to repair minor imperfections in the finish
- Show use of buffing tools, to correct large or small areas
- Determine final buffing and polishing of finishes where necessary on fresh paint
