APP 700 - Internship Seminar & Capstone Credits: 2 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 2 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech Students take a closer look at the fashion industry, participating in an industry related project in the Des Moines area. With the help of the instructor and industry mentors, students will be able to apply the knowledge they have acquired throughout their education. (This course is Pass/Fail.)
Prerequisite: APP 600 Competencies
- Articulate and analyze the selected organization, including its mission, culture, and structure
- Explore the relationship between organization and industry

- Research professional job opportunities in the fashion industry
- Design a group fashion related project that uses skills learned throughout the program

- Connect with industry mentors and experts
- Attend networking events
- Interview professionals in career-related positions
- Visit different markets and tour areas of interest
- Modify an electronic portfolio to showcase academic course work, service learning, and leadership activities throughout the time at DMACC
- Demonstrate proficiency in content and format of selected pieces
- Complete a cover letter suitable for a 4-year institution, scholarship or job opportunity
