Network Technology Certificate program graduates will be prepared to pursue an entry level career in several areas of Information Technology.  Careers involving installation and repair of telecommunications services, networking equipment, computer servers and software.  Employment can be found at data centers, telephone and Internet providers, financial institutions, hospitals, municipalities and a variety of other companies.

Graduation Requirements


To earn a Network Technology-Telecommunications Certificate, a student must complete all coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

Program Competencies


  1. Demonstrate a knowledge of the overarching terminology associated with telecommunications.
  2. Incorporate tasks associated with basic TCP/IP networks.
  3. Correct faults in a digital central office switch.
  4. Correct faults on trunks and subscriber lines/circuits.
  5. Install and test central office and PBX lines and trunks.
  6. Install and test point-to-point voice and data circuits.
  7. Construct and assess analog and digital electronic circuits.
  8. Utilize computer and network security practices.
  9. Install and test a basic customer computer system.
  10. Demonstrate the workplace basic skills of listening, writing, computing, problem-solving and interpersonal relationships.
