The Renewable Energy AAS is a four-term program that provides students conceptual and hands-on training in technology and practices used in the growing fields of mechanical operations and maintenance, wind turbine technology, electrical, electronic and renewable energy. This program is designed to prepare technicians with the skills to support, explain, and troubleshoot a wide variety of mechanical/electrical projects.

To earn a Renewable Energy, AAS Degree, a student must complete all required coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

What Kind of Work Will You Do?


  • Install, diagnose and repair electronic equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations and upgrades on existing equipment

  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic principles of electronics, physics, mathematics and industrial equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of test equipment used for testing, calibrating and maintaining electronic equipment.
  • Apply knowledge to problems with the operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand technical manuals and reference material to upgrade existing skills and learn new skills.
  • Communicate with managers and staff regarding the safe operation, Installation and modification of electronic systems.

  7. Appraise problems surrounding the operation, installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electronic systems
