What Kind of Work Will You Do?

The data science work life can be incredibly varied depending on the company. A data scientist is expected to find valuable information about sets of data so the company can get value from this information. What Skills and Abilities Will You Need?

The most important skill of a data scientist is curiosity.  Wanting to find the valuable information from often large sets of data needs to be motivating.  A data scientist also needs to be a confident communicator.  They need to be able to communicate will with technical groups to get the assistance they need in accessing data.  They also need to be able to communicate well with business groups to gather requirements as well as defend the answers they find.  Finally, a data scientist needs to be able to control work load because a good data scientist is always in demand.
