With heavy emphasis in contemporary digital marketing strategies, the Marketing AAS degree is designed for students who want to prepare for an immediate career in business, or who intend to go on to work full or part-time in marketing while earning a four-year Marketing degree. The AAS degree does offer select transfer options for students planning on attending a four-year college.

Coursework is designed with the help of successful marketers who know what it takes to succeed. Classroom instruction is based on lectures, labs, speakers, internships and study tours. Major areas of study include marketing, digital marketing, sales, advertising, promotion and understanding buyer behavior in small business, retail and business-to-business marketing environments. The Marketing program also offers many opportunities to develop and demonstrate leadership skills through study tours, club meetings, professional development activities, meetings with business leaders, community involvement projects and group projects. Day, evening and online classes are offered.

Many graduates of the Marketing program have gone on to become marketing managers, regional marketing supervisors, professional salespeople, digital marketers and customer service representatives. Some own businesses and others have found careers as managers, merchandisers and buyers in the retail community. Graduates from the Marketing program are responsible for creating and/or executing marketing strategies, hiring, training and supervising employees. They are also responsible for buying and selling product offerings, and planning promotions and advertising campaigns. The employment outlook in marketing is likely to be steady because the competition for customers makes marketing vital to virtually any business. Marketing careers offer flexibility, mobility, and pay to match your ability.

Students can expect to spend $75 - $150 per course for textbooks. Costs can be reduced by renting textbooks or buying e-texts. Some courses within this program don’t currently require textbooks.
