MOR 319 - Funeral Arrangement Operations Credits: 1 Lecture Hours: 0 Lab Hours: 2 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech This course will provide the student opportunities to simulate the standard operations of a funeral home. Activities will include simulating funeral arrangement conferences, completing standard funeral service forms, and creating memorialization products. Prerequisite OR Corequisite: MOR 301 Corequisite: MOR 318 Competencies
- Outline the common governmental forms and documents
- Demonstrate knowledge of death benefits
- Complete standard forms (e.g. death certificate, burial transit permit, etc.)
- Create funeral service materials utilizing software programs.
- Create death notice and/or obituary
- Create printed materials (e.g. register book, memorial folders, etc.)
- Produce a video tribute
- Conduct a simulated funeral arrangement conference(s)
- Observe an arrangement conference
- Gather the necessary information (e.g. biographical data, vital statistics, etc.)
- Demonstrate transitions necessary in an arrangement conference
- Compile personalization resources
- Research venues for personalized funerals
- Research service leaders
