CRR 523 - Paint Correction & Detailing Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 4 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech This course covers paint correction issues, including sanding and buffing fresh and aged paint, and the expectations customers have for their vehicle after repairs have been completed. Cleaning interior and exterior components of vehicles will also be covered in this class. Prerequisite: CRR 150 Corequisite: CRR 409 and CRR 522 Competencies
- Demonstrate proper paint correction techniques
- Show the proper selection of abrasives to remove orange peel, dirt, and any imperfections
- Show the proper selection and use of polishes and buffers to repair minor imperfections in the finish
- Show the use of buffing tools to correct large or small areas
- Determine the final buffing and polishing of finishes where necessary on fresh paint
