ADN 180 - Adv. Concepts of Nursing I Credits: 4 Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2 Practicum Hours: 3 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech This course introduces nursing students to advanced principles of client care, building on acquired knowledge and development of critical thinking skills from previous course work. Students focus on client care associated with acute and chronic multi-system disease dysfunction and the physical and psychosocial adaptation of clients. The course presents professional nursing roles in the community, leadership and management, as well as nursing trends and integrates the nursing process/clinical judgment model. Emphasis is placed on acquiring knowledge to facilitate clinical decision-making skills needed to provide safe client care. Prerequisite: BIO 168 , BIO 173 , ENG 105 ,PSY 121 , PNN 108 , PNN 151 , PNN 159 , MAT 156 , PNN 228 , PNN 229 and PNN 230 OR proof of LPN with BIO 168 , BIO 173 , ENG 105 , PSY 121 and MAT 156 Prerequisite OR Corequisite: ADN 110 Competencies
