This course applies math concepts, legal concepts and survey concepts to prepare an applicant to sit for the Fundamentals of Land Surveying Licensure exam. Topics will include: preparing for the exam; survey math; analysis of random error; data acquisition; angles, directions and traverses; boundary law and land descriptions; U.S. Public Land Survey System, mapping; business and ethics.

    4. Interpret, analyze and adjust survey data

  2. Use Total Station raw data to compute topographic data
    1. Review data acquisition for distance measurement

    3. Review data acquisition from the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)
  3. Examine map projections & coordinate systems
    1. Review survey mapping: topographic, aerial and GPS
    2. Review boundary law principles
    3. Review U.S. Public Land Survey System
