Includes the skills to write a complete estimate using current labor and material costs. Understanding the use of P pages within an estimate along with computer based estimating will be part of the course. Competencies

- Define estimating terms and abbreviations
- Develop proper procedures for completing an estimate
- List appropriate customer information
- List the appropriate vehicle information
- Identify key components to write an estimate
- Show locations of VIN number for vehicle to be estimated
- List the paint codes for vehicle to be estimated
- Determine different damage types
- Identify the difference between primary and secondary damage
- Identify repair options of panels or replacement on primary damaged parts
- Identify replacement options on primary damaged parts
- Identify the extent of direct and indirect damage and the direction of impact
- Create a computer-based estimate
- List the methods and sequence of repair and develop an estimate
- Classify the damage in proper sequence (front to back, outer to inner)
- Select the proper parts, labor and material costs
