Covers an understanding of writing estimates accurately, key estimating terms, and abbreviations. Includes the skills to write a complete estimate using current labor and material costs. Understanding the use of P pages within an estimate along with computer based estimating will be part of the course.

2. Define estimating terms and abbreviations
Develop proper procedures for completing an estimate
1. List appropriate customer information
2. List the appropriate vehicle information
Identify key components to write an estimate
1. Show locations of VIN number for vehicle to be estimated
2. List the paint codes for vehicle to be estimated
Determine different damage types
1. Identify the difference between primary and secondary damage
2. Identify repair options of panels or replacement on primary damaged parts
3. Identify replacement options on primary damaged parts
4. Identify the extent of direct and indirect damage and the direction of impact
Create a computer-based estimate
1. List the methods and sequence of repair and develop an estimate
2. Classify the damage in proper sequence (front to back, outer to inner)
3. Select the proper parts, labor and material costs
Determine forgotten items and preliminary estimate
1. Identify what is forgotten on estimates
2. Show the total cost from parts, labor and materials
