Students will develop clinical skill in review and scoring of sleep studies, facilitating physician interpretation and reporting results of sleep studies.
Competencies

Clean and disinfect electrodes and sensors
Analyze data recorded during sleep study
Explain sleep architecture based on data recorded
Demonstrate scoring of sleep studies according to nationally accepted guidelines
Tabulate report of sleep study
Transmit tabulated data and recordings to the physician for interpretation
Compare scoring by different technologists to assure interscorer reliability in performance and scoring of sleep studies
Provide patient follow-up to completed study
