AVM 132 - Airframe/Powerplant Inspection Credits: 2 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 2 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech The course covers inspections related to aircraft engines and airframes. Airframe and engine conformity and airworthiness inspections will be units of instruction. Competencies
- Perform airframe conformity and airworthiness inspections.
- Understand the limits of authorization and responsibility of the airframe technician in detail and inspection authorization in general.
- Describe general privileges and limitations related to inspections.
- Understand current instructions of the manufacturers? maintenance manuals for specific operations
- Describe FAR 91, general operating and flight rules, subpart C, maintenance, preventive maintenance and alterations as it pertains to the airframe technician.
- Preview FAR 43, Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Rebuilding and Alteration as it pertains to the airframe technician.
- Review hard landing inspections
- Describe FAR 39, Airworthiness Directives, as they pertain to the airframe technician
- Describe aircraft specifications and type certificate data sheets as they pertain to the airframe mechanic
- Perform powerplant conformity and airworthiness inspections.
- Describe FAR 65 Certification
- Describe general privileges and limitations
- Understand current instructions of the Manufacturers’ maintenance manuals for specific operations
- Describe FAR 91, general operating and flight rules, subpart C, maintenance, preventive maintenance and alternations, as it pertains to the powerplant technician
- Preview FAR 43, maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding and alteration, as it pertains to the Powerplant technician.
