AGH 156 - Landscape Design II Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech This course covers the landscape design of residential, commercial and public areas with an emphasis on advanced planting and hardscape design. Prerequisite: AGH 154 and AGH 159 Competencies
- Evaluate plant selection to be used for landscaping.
- Determine site limitations due to exposure, moisture, soil limitations, etc.
- Prioritize plants which are most adapted to site attributes.
- Select adapted plants that meet aesthetic and functional goals
- Assess proper and application of hardscapes at a given location.
- Determine limitations of hardscapes.
- List potential benefits of hardscapes.
- Select hardscape materials appropriate for the location and design goals.
- Support the role of a master plan in the design process.
- Perform graphic skills commonly used in a master plan.
- Estimate the costs the master plan design.
- Construct a viable master plan.
- Evaluate the role of the client in the design process.
- Interview clients about landscape projects.
- Determine the attributes a client desires in their landscape design.
- Demonstrate how to present a master plan to a client.
- Incorporate different methods to assist clients in understanding of the design
