- Evaluate the traits of groups of herbaceous plant materials
- Determine tolerance to sunlight exposure
- Contrast tolerances to differing soil conditions
- Assess value based on aesthetics or function
- Classify plant life cycles
- Differentiate between annuals, biennials and perennials
- Contrast short lived and long lived perennials
- Compare and contrast the uses of economically important herbaceous plants
- Identify over 100 herbaceous plants by genus and species from a given plant list
- Differentiate between the roles of economically important plant materials
- Select herbaceous plants of appropriate longevity (annual, biennial, perennial) and physical characteristics (height, color, etc.) for a given site (mocroclimate)
- Create a document outlining more detailed information on a subset of plants
- Provide specific information on ideal sunlight exposure, soil conditions, etc that these plants thrive in
- Investigate what cultivars are commercially available
