AGB 812 - Agribusiness Internship II

Students will have the opportunity to experience an agricultural career through participation in an internship experience. The internship will provide career exploration through a structured evaluation.
Prerequisite: AGB 802

    2. Examine lists of potential employment opportunities
    3. Select employment opportunities that match your interests and abilities
    4. Outline strengths and weaknesses of selected employment opportunities
  2. Select an approved internship that matches your career interests for work experience
    1. Complete a job application
    2. Demonstrate appropriate interview skills for internship position.
    3. Obtain and agree to an offer for internship employment
  3. Complete business agreement contract for internship
    1. Record accurate information necessary for employment experience
    2. Obtain required signatures prior to starting employment
  4. Practice good employment skills
    1. Show willingness to accept supervision
    2. Follow and listen to verbal instructions
    3. Exhibit dependability, responsibility and punctuality
    4. Demonstrate flexibility
    5. Demonstrate professionalism
    6. Develop techniques of good listening
    7. Use effective communication skills for employment

  5. Develop problem-solving techniques to on-the-job situations
    1. Develop attitudes necessary for successful job performance and cooperation with coworkers and management

  6. Complete internship weekly work reports
    1. Prepare written report on intern activities on a weekly basis
    2. Return work reports to internship instructor electronically
  7. Adhere to the job duties and responsibilities of internship
    1. Work a minimum of 120 hours
    2. Obtain a satisfactory employer evaluation
  8. Reflect upon internship experience
    1. Prepare internship reflection poster-board
    2. Present internship poster-board reflection to class
