ELT 384 - Electronic Circuit Anlys. Lab

Basic experiments in circuit analysis including familiarization with basic test instruments, series and parallel circuits (using resistors, batteries, and power supplies), and applications of electrical laws and theorems.
Prerequisite:  Minimum ALEKS placement score of 30, or Minimum ACT math score of 19, or Completion of math course at or above level of MAT 063  with a grade of “C” or higher.
Corequisite: ELT 383

  4. Analyze resistive and reactive networks
    1. Calculate resistor values using color codes and measurements
    2. Determine values for unknown resistances, capacitances, and inductances

  5. Analyze current and voltage
    1. Determine the effects of opens and shorts in circuits
    2. Report voltage at different references
  6. Illustrate phase relationships in the following
    1. Measure resistive phase relationships

    3. Measure input to output phase relationships
  7. Verify time constant relationships in AC circuits
    1. Measure time constant of R-C circuits
    2. Measure time constant of R-L circuits
    3. Measure time constant of R-C and RL circuits
  8. Examine Transformer operation
    1. Measure primary and secondary voltage
    2. Calculate voltage and turns ratio
