- Measure accurately for placement of hinges
- Mortise for a hinge gain using appropriate hand tools
- Lay out a building to establish 90 degree corners and accurate dimensions
- Locate stakes to correct dimensions
- Prove, using any one of several methods to do so, that the building is square
- Demonstrate the ability to properly cut and place moldings used for standard trim applications
- Demonstrate skill using the block plane
- Cut and place base molding

- Determine lengths on common rafters
