Insurance Services Certificate

The insurance certificate course has been designed for students seeking entry-level positions in the burgeoning insurance industry. Besides learning insurance related employable skills and terminology, strong focus is placed on increasing the “soft skills” of the individual.

  3. Attend any required information/registration session.

Graduation Requirements


To earn an Insurance Services Certificate, a student must complete all coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

There are several insurance companies located in the Des Moines area.  Companies like Nationwide and Principal Financial Group have supported this certificate program because of their need for qualified employees in these entry level positions.   The average starting salary ranges from $12.53 to $14.64 per hour for these different positions according to salary information collected by indeed.com in the Des Moines area.
