The advanced certificate is designed as a transfer certificate for Iowa State University (ISU) Masters in Cybersecurity Engineering. A BS/BA degree is required and experience in the IT field is recommended. The courses in this advanced certificate focus on second year courses and are a higher level than introductory courses.

1. Students must have a BA/BS degree prior to enrollment. 2. Students should have basic computer competencies prior to registering for the certificate. Program Graduation Requirements
To earn a Cybersecurity certificate , a student must complete all required coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Option 1: Select 3 Credits

What Kind of Work Will You Do?
- Monitor anti-threat solutions and takes the appropriate actions to resolve any threats.
- Perform network scanning and vulnerability assessments and maintains patch management system.
- Create and maintain documentation regarding all security violations, incidents and malware infections.
- Assist with the creation and implementation of security controls, processes and procedures.
- Assist with ensuing compliance with various regulations and industry standards.
- Update secure configurations by routinely reviewing vendor sites, bulletins, and notifications for security information.
- Research, test and recommend new software and hardware to enhance security efficiency to meet needs.

- May work irregular hours and be on 24-hour call for duty.
