The Electronics Fundamentals diploma provides the foundational knowledge for a position in the field of electronic technology. The curriculum focuses on AC/DC circuits, digital electronics, computer technology, and electronics fabrication/repair; preparing graduates for entry-level positions such as computer service technician or installation technician.

- Complete ALEKS placement test with a minimum score of 30 or higher.
Graduation Requirements
To earn an Electronics Fundamentals diploma a student must complete all required coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Total Credits Required to Complete this Diploma - 35*

- Install, diagnose and repair a wide variety of Electronics/electromechanical systems including business equipment, consumer equipment, audio-visual equipment, circuit-board repair and network and computer equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations and upgrades on existing equipment.
- Maintain service records.
- Interact with administration, coworkers, customers, users, vendors and other trades.
What Skills and Abilities Will You Need?
- Demonstrate knowledge of test equipment used for testing, calibrating and maintaining electronic equipment.
- Apply knowledge to problems with the operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.
- Demonstrate ability to understand technical manuals and reference material to upgrade existing skills and learn new skills.
- Communicate with managers and staff regarding the safe operation, installation, and modification of electronic systems.

Program Competencies
- Identify components and their basic functions.
- Demonstrate basic electrical test equipment use and limitations.
- Demonstrate basic skills of electronic circuit repair.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
