The Management and Leadership certificate provides a background in management principles, business functions, human relations and communication skills to employees wishing to develop or polish management skills. Students also develop behaviors necessary to become an effective and respected manager. This certificate is also beneficial to people currently employed in a career/technical field who wish to enhance their skills and develop themselves for opportunities for promotion into a leadership role.

Graduation Requirements
To earn a Management and Leadership Certificate, a student must complete all coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Option 1 - Select 3-4 Credits

*Total credits are calculated using the least number of credits needed to satisfy the option requirements. These credits are also applicable to the Business Administration, Management, AAS and Marketing, AAS Fixed Costs

- Accomplish organizational objectives by directing the efforts of employees.
- Use technology for communication, business applications, web applications and presentations to individuals and groups.
- Keep records of people contacted, points discussed, and follow-up promised.
- Listen carefully for what is needed by others.
- Prioritize and delegate work tasks on a daily basis.
- Evaluate the work performance of others.
- Use leadership skills to motivate the efforts of employees and work teams.
- Prepare or direct the preparation of financial statements.
What Skills and Abilities Will You Need?
- Communicate effectively with clients and company personnel.
- Ability to use technology for communication, business applications, web applications.
- Apply knowledge of contract and agency law.
- Read and understand financial statements.
- Plan and organize work tasks.
- Accurately calculate business and financial math problems.
- Apply knowledge of methods and importance of delegation.
- Apply knowledge of managerial functions (planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling).
- Speak effectively before groups.
