To earn an UI/UX, Certificate, a student must complete all required coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

What Kind of Work Will You Do?

  • Design, build and maintain websites and web apps, ensuring seamless integration of design and development.

What Skills and Abilities Will You Need?


  • Sit and pay attention for a minimum of 2 hours
  • Intermediate Computer Skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must learn and use multiple software applications and stay current with updates, adapt to change and be able to learn on your own
  • Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time
  • Must be self-motivated to develop an effective job search strategy to secure a position in this very competitive job market

Program Competencies


  1. Understand design principles such as color theory, typography, and iconography in UI design
  2. Implement accessibility features in HTML and CSS according to WCAG guidelines
  3. Develop low-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes
  4. Design responsive interfaces that adapt to multiple devices and screen sizes
  5. Structure content for easy navigation such as creating sitemaps and user flows to define content relationships
  6. Conduct user testing on prototypes and iterating based on feedback
