Mathematics: Transfer Major AS



This Associate of Science transfer degree is designed for students transferring to Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, the University of Iowa, Clarke University or St. Ambrose University to study Mathematics. Requirements may vary at other institutions so students should become familiar with the specific course requirements of the four-year institution to which they plan to transfer.

To earn a Mathematics Transfer Major AS Degree, a student must complete all required coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

* One of the DMACC course should include a course the meets the diversity requirement.

Complete 3 semester credit hours to satisfy the Diversity Requirement with a minimum grade of “C.” The Diversity Requirement does not increase the number of credits required for graduation. The course used to fulfill the Diversity Requirement may also be used to fulfill three credits of Core requirements in Communications, Social & Behavioral Sciences, Humanities or Distributed Requirements, providing the diversity course is listed as fulfilling Core requirements in Communications, Social & Behavioral Sciences or the Humanities. If the course does not fall under any of the Core groups, the course used to fulfill the Diversity Requirement may count as an elective.



Additional math courses that are recommended:

Completion of a Mathematical Reasoning course is recommended during Semester 3 or 4. Students can enroll in this course through the consortium: Grandview offers Math 300 Introduction to Mathematical Reasoning (3 credits) in the Spring semester and Drake offers Math 101
