Fluid Power, commonly known as hydraulics and pneumatics, is an ever-increasing technology in many industries. This program is designed to cover many of the facets that a hydraulics technician would need in order to build a foundation for a successful career in this field.

This program is designed for any occupation primarily involving hydraulics. Students can obtain a one-year diploma or a two-year AAS degree in Fluid Power Technology.

AAS students start Fall semester.


Graduation Requirements


To earn a Fluid Power Technology diploma or AAS degree, a student must complete all coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

Program Competencies


  1. Troubleshoot and repair industrial mechanical equipment.
  2. Operate and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  3. Perform facilities maintenance and upgrades.
  4. Work as a team member
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of pressure compensated pumps and control values, signal network, and electrical measurement of pressure and flow.
