Cybersecurity Diploma

Students who earn this diploma will be introduced to the basic principles, protocols and procedures to work in the Cybersecurity field. The student will also be prepared to complete the AAS degree  . Students will learn critical thinking and the principles of risk management and how they relate to Cybersecurity.

Program Graduation Requirements


To earn a Cybersecurity diploma, a student must complete all required coursework as prescribed and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

What Kind of Work Will You Do?


  • Monitor anti-threat solutions and takes the appropriate actions to resolve any threats.
  • Create and maintain documentation regarding all security violations, incidents and malware infections.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of security controls, processes and procedures.
  • Assist with ensuing compliance with various regulations and industry standards.
  • Update secure configurations by routinely reviewing vendor sites, bulletins, and notifications for security information.
  • Provide excellent internal/external customer service to internal and external customers

Program Competencies


  1. Analyze and explain various methods used for Information Security.
  2. Write computer programs in upper level programming languages.
  3. Demonstrate methods in preserving data confidentiality, risk management, data and system integrity, availability, authentication, and accounting.
  4. Acquire skills that can lead to industry certification exams, Security +, CCENT.
  5. Demonstrate cooperation and teamwork skills in assigned projects.
