This course provides instruction on general industry safety and health topics. The course will provide students with the knowledge to recognize the hazards of the workplace and to work safely in or around such hazards.

Perform safety procedures
1. Perform a pre-startup safety inspection
2. Install a machine guard with an interlock switch
3. Perform an electrical lockout/tagout procedure
4. Perform a pneumatic lockout/tagout procedure
Interpret safety information
1. Locate safety date sheets (SDS)
2. Interpret safety data sheets (SDS)
3. Interpret safety labeling on containers
4. Record relevant maintenance information
