1. Understand and apply the design process
   1. Identify and describe key stages of the interior design process from concept to presentation
   2. Employ problem-solving and critical thinking to address client needs and functional requirements
   3. Document design decisions through written, visual, and graphic communication methods
2. Develop and refine space planning concepts
   1. Generate multiple layout concepts that address client needs for a small to mid-size residence
   2. Explore spatial relationships using bubble diagrams, block diagrams, and adjacency matrices
   3. Apply design principles of proportion, function, and circulation to organize spaces effectively
3. Produce hand-drafted drawings and rendered drawings
   1. Create floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and perspectives using accepted architectural conventions
   2. Render drawings to communicate design intent, materials, and finishes through appropriate media
   3. Demonstrate craftsmanship and accuracy in technical and presentation drawings
4. Select and document furnishings, finishes, and equipment (FF&E)
   1. Identify appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that reinforce the project concept
   2. Prepare supporting documentation such as labeled visuals, specifications, or schedules
   3. Organize information and visuals for professional presentation and clarity
5. Develop and present design solutions
   1. Assemble presentation materials-such as boards, visuals, and samples-that demonstrate design composition and craftsmanship
   2. Present design solutions through clear visual and verbal communication to peers or review panels
6. Collaborate effectively within a design team
   1. Develop a cohesive design scheme for a small residence as a team
   2. Contribute ideas respectfully and reach consensus on design direction, materials, and furnishings
   3. Prepare and deliver an informal group presentation using shared visuals, products, and real-world examples
7. Engage in collaborative design programming and spatial analysis
   1. Measure and document an existing space, recording key dimensions and features
   2. Analyze functional needs and spatial requirements through programming exercises
   3. Create adjacency matrices and bubble diagrams to explore spatial organization and layout options
