ELT 147 - NEC Residential Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech The basic principles of the NEC for layout and construction for residential wiring systems. Apply code rules to house wiring installations. Discuss security systems, fire and smoke detectors, low-voltage and remote controls. Corequisite: ELT 148 Competencies
- Assess basic safety rules for wiring electrical systems by identifying the major categories of electrical safety
- Identify electrical hazard categories of electric shock, electrocution, fires, and explosions
- Describe safety rules pertaining to personnel safety

- Illustrate the structure and layout of the NEC
