Includes the preparation of the blueprint used to construct the student-built project. Competencies
- Evaluate the appropriate use of drafting software tools to produce a floor plan
- List the drafting tools
- Demonstrate the ability to use the drafting tools
- Interpret proper line quality
- Identify proper lettering and numbering
- Determine correct lettering, numbers, and symbols
- Create building designs that may be effectively communicated to an inspector
- Implement building codes
- Apply correct symmetry and symbols
- Determine proper dimensioning
- Formulate correct proportions
- Demonstrate the ability to dimension a floor plan
- Identify the use of extension and dimension lines
- Label wall and exterior openings
- Communicate building ideas graphically
- Draw plan to scale using both hand drawn and using a CAD design program
- Label drawing
- Apply building symbols correctly
