AUT 849 - Electric Vehicle and ADAS Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 4 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech Instruction in operation, techniques, and procedures required to diagnose and repair electric/hybrid vehicles, advanced driver assistance, and safety systems. Prerequisite: AUT 615 , AUT 652 Competencies

- Diagnose failures using trouble code information
- Interpret information and data as it relates to diagnosis
- Perform clearing of trouble codes
- Demonstrate the disable and enable procedures for restraint systems according to manufacturer service information
- Examine seatbelt pre-tensioner operation
- Analyze Advanced Driver Assistant Systems
- Discuss ADAS systems
- Identify component location and functions
- Use diagnostic tools and procedures to diagnose (troubleshoot) ADAS systems and to determine necessary action
- Perform ADAS relearn/reset/calibration procedures
- Evaluate Hybrid/Electric Vehicle technology
- Discuss hybrid/high-voltage vehicle systems
- Identify high-voltage circuits of electric or hybrid electric vehicle and related safety precautions
- Practice safe working practices and the use of protective equipment for enabling and disabling high voltage systems
