This course teaches fundamentals of AC/DC electrical systems used for power and control in industrial, commercial, agricultural, and residential applications.
Competencies
  1. Interpret basic electrical power and control schematics
    1. Describe the operation of basic electrical circuits, motors, pushbutton switches, selector switches, resistors, relays, motor contactors, indicators, instrumentation, power supplies, series and parallel circuits
    2. Identify the schematic symbols for resistors, transistors, transformers, lamps, motors, solenoids, meters, fuses, and switches
  2. Operate basic electrical circuits after proper setup
    1. Troubleshoot basic series and parallel electrical circuits
    2. Calculate the voltage, current, and resistance in a series & parallel circuit
