MGT 145 - Human Relations in Management Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Open This course emphasizes the importance of the ability to communicate with and work effectively through other people. Through the development of proper attitudes toward self, others and organizational settings, students are prepared to handle the ever-changing needs of the workplace. Key topics of analysis include: self-awareness, attitudes/values, motivation, communication, emotional control, conflict, stress management and ethics. Emphasis is placed upon the importance of the development of proper attitudes toward self and others in an organizational setting. Class discussions stress the development of a good self-image and the correlation this has to energy levels, emotions, verbal/nonverbal communication and defensiveness in personal and professional relationships.
