AA610 - Appointment of Advisory Committees


Policy

Appointment - Each year the Board of Directors may approve members to educational program advisory committees for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs based on the recommendation of the College President. Suggestions for appointment shall be obtained from Board members, employees, and representatives of the community. The persons recommended for advisory committee services should be well qualified to give advice and counsel regarding the respective educational program and genuinely interested in the mission of the College. Efforts will be made to ensure diverse representation including gender, ethnicity, and membership from secondary and postsecondary education, business and industry, alumni and current students.

Term of Membership - Advisory committees may be formed on an ad hoc basis to deal with a particular matter, or on a continuing basis to work with the faculty in a program area CTE program advisory boards will meet twice annually and members will serve without compensation. Members of continuing advisory committees will be appointed for a specific term of service, usually one, two, or three years.
