AA604 - Library Materials

Policy

Section: Academic Affairs

The College adheres to the principles of intellectual freedom, as outlined in the Library Bill of Rights of the American Library Association, in the development of Library collections. The College recognizes that free access to ideas and freedom of expression are foundational to the educational process. The College Libraries strive to purchase and provide access to a balanced collection of materials which represent the widest range of viewpoints regardless of the approach used or political, religious, sexual, social, economic, or scientific views expressed; or because of the racial, national, sexual, political, or religious identity of the originator. Acquisition and retention of materials should not be interpreted as endorsement by the College, but rather as the fulfillment of our responsibility to the pursuit of academic freedoms. The process for Requests for Reconsideration of Library Materials is described in ES4775 .
