    The College shall clarify guidelines for the enrollment of high school students in credit classes.
     
  2. Procedure
    1. High school age students may enroll in college credit classes if the approval, testing, and other requirements outlined below have been met.
    2. High school age student enrollees will be required to meet the same academic standards as any other students and will be awarded the same credit for courses successfully completed.
    3. This procedure does not apply to high school age students enrolling under Senior Plus programming or any special contractual agreements.
    4. Applicants must complete an Application for Admissions.
    5. Written approval must be submitted from a parent or legal guardian.
    6. If the high school age student is less than junior status the following must also occur:
      1. Submit approval from a high school counselor or principal on the DMACC High School Permission Form.  (High school counselor or principal approval not required for Home-Schooled.)
      2. ACCUPLACER (reading and writing) and ALEKS math assessment or ACT testing. Course placement will be mandatory. Students not meeting minimum standards will not be allowed to enroll. Permission to enroll will be based on student achieving college level scores on assessment exams.
      3. A DMACC advisor must approve the course selection/registration.
      4. The student is limited to no more than two credit courses per term.
      5. Students must meet all necessary prerequisites for the college level course.
