MAP 256 - Diagnostic Radiography IICredits: 1 Lecture Hours: 0 Lab Hours: 2 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech Continuation of Diagnostic Radiology I. Course emphasizes the use of critical thinking skills to incorporate cognitive knowledge in the performance of taking patient films under direct supervision in the physician’s office. Course includes evaluation of films exposed by the student and/or simulated radiographs. Diagnostic Radiography II will familiarize students with basic pediatric radiography and shoulder radiography. It will not provide enough hours, classroom or clinical, to allow student to add the pediatric classification to their permit. Successful completion of Diagnostic Radiography I and Diagnostic Radiography II, with a minimum grade of 80% will allow eligibility for student to sit for the Limited Radiologic Technologist exam and make application for the permit to practice through the IDPH, Radiography Health. Prerequisite: MAP 255
