ARC 124 - Arch Residential Drafting II Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 4 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: General This course will apply practical application of the basic skills of drafting involving the mechanics and the necessary thought process in the development of residential construction documents. - Discriminate an appropriate location of a Typical Wall Section
- Interpolate from established views to produce appropriate Typical Wall Section for the assigned residential project to prescribed standards
- Choose sheet placement and appropriate scale
- Establish dimensions and annotation for Wall Section per prescribed standards
- Compose an architectural Stair Section
- Summarize purpose of Stair Sections
- Distinguish an appropriate location and direction of the Stair Section
- Predict construction materials and assemblies used in project to determine construction of stair
- Select sheet placement and appropriate scales
- Produce dimensions and annotation for Stair Section using prescribed standards
- Create architectural Window Details, including Head, Jamb and Sill details
- Examine purpose of Window Details
- Select appropriate location of the window for these details
- Determine known construction materials and assemblies used in project to determine construction around window
- Discuss and select sheet placement and appropriate scales
- Prepare dimensions and annotation for Window Details per prescribed standards
- Use manufacturer’s provided CAD symbols to represent window profiles
- Generate Construction Details
- Discuss purpose of Construction Details
- Select appropriate location and direction of Construction Details
- Compare known construction materials and assemblies used in the project to determine construction used in detailed areas
- Discuss sheet placement and appropriate scales
- Delineate proper dimensions and annotation for the Construction Details per prescribed standards
- Formulate Interior Elevations
- Discuss purpose of Interior Elevations
- Select appropriate locations of the Interior Elevations
- Characterize known construction materials, products and assemblies used in project to determine Interior Elevation elements
- Review and establish sheet placement and appropriate scales
- Produce appropriate dimensions and annotation for Interior Elevations per prescribed standards
