- Participate in drills and practice sessions to acquire and improve upon specific skills
- Describe a brief history of the game of golf
- Demonstrate comprehension of the basic rules of golf
- Display the proper etiquette of the courteous golfer
- Explain selected terminology used in the game of golf
- Identify the club parts of grip, shaft, hosel, neck, heel, clubface, toe, sole and sole plate, and club number
- Differentiate between the various irons and woods relative to their loft and use
- Explain the various grips
- Practice the natural grip
- Practice the overlapping grip
- Practice the interlocking grip
- Demonstrate knowledge of the address routine
- Perform proper placing of feet in relation to the ball and line of flight
- Practice extending arms and grounding the clubhead “square” to the line of flight
- Practice keeping back straight, flexing the knees slightly and bending slightly at the hips
- Demonstrate knowledge of the correct swing
- Display knowledge of the concept of hitting “down through the ball
- Describe the relationship between the arms and the elbows.
