- Explain the basic concepts, benefits, and philosophy of a preventive maintenance program
- Define what preventive maintenance is.
- Understand the purpose for preventive maintenance
- List and define the long term results of preventive maintenance
- Demonstrate an understanding of how the essential elements of philosophy, inspections and planning and scheduling work together to form a complete preventive maintenance program
- Demonstrate the ability to create a preventive maintenance program
- Organize the program
- Identify preventive maintenance items through research of technical manuals or other vendor literature
- Determine the manpower requirements for the program
