ITR 101 - Intro Interpret & Translation Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Open A general introduction to the field of oral language interpreting and translation (I/T), including linguistic theory of communication, translation approaches, problems and processes, cultural competency and ethics, the role of the interpreter, modes of interpretation and interpreter errors. Taught in English; students need not be bilingual in other languages to take this introductory course. Competencies
