- Set up a basic security system
- Program control panel
- Connect sensors.
- Use sensors appropriately
- Utilize types of indoor and outdoor sensors
- Connect various environmental sensors
- Demonstrate functions of access sensors and access control
- Demonstrate proficiency with miscellaneous security devices
- Show usage of pool monitors
- List types of stand alone alarms and methods of personal security
- Plan lighting for security
- Differentiate monitoring functions of security systems
- Explain call and access control
- Describe nurse call
- Operate a 24 hour central station
- Set up closed circuit television (CCTV) systems
- Install components of CCTV
- Prepare CCTV wiring
- Demonstrate basic installation techniques
- Demonstrate NEC-compliant security system installations
- Explain structural considerations of installation
- Utilize wireless intruder alarms
- Installation of security systems or CCTV systems
- Students must install and test two security systems
- Students must include all documentation, operating procedures, Schematics, and written instructions to operate the system to the client
- Students will train the clients in the use of the security system
