ELT 388 - Elec Circuit Analysis II Lab Credits: 2 Lecture Hours: 0 Lab Hours: 4 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech An analysis of solid-state circuitry. Course includes both transistor and integrated circuit experiments. Linear amplifiers and active filters are evaluated. Students will attend a minimum of three industrial tours, which may take place outside of regular class time. Prerequisite: ELT 383 , ELT 384 Corequisite: ELT 387 Competencies
- Build and analyze various diode circuits
- Determine the conditions of diodes using a DMM
- Correctly wire diode rectifier, clipper, clamper, voltage doubler and zener regulator circuits
- Identify the associated waveforms for diode rectifier, clipper, clamper, voltage doubler, and zener regulatory circuits
- Demonstrate the operation of diode rectifier, clipper, clamper, voltage doubler, and zener regulator circuits
- Build and analyze various bipolar transistor circuits
- Demonstrate base, emitter, and voltage divider, and collector feedback biasing of a transistor
- Demonstrate the operation of equivalent FET amplifiers
- Demonstrate effects of temperature in transistor stability
- Identify the input and output waveforms of common emitter, common base, common collector class A and class B push pull amplifiers
- Demonstrate factors that control an amplifier’s low frequency response
- Identify and analyze the difference between single ended and complimentary push pull amplifiers
- Build and analyze various operational amplifier circuits
- Determine by experimentation and op amp’s slew rate and common mode rejection ratio
- Correctly wire inverting and noninverting op amps, differentiators, and integrators
- Demonstrate the operation and waveforms of inverting and noninverting op amps, differentiators and integrators
- Construct op amp 2nd order Butterworth low pass and high pass filters
- Demonstrate the operation and waveforms of op amp 2nd order Butterworth low pass and high pass filters
- Construct op amp band pass and band stop filters
- Demonstrate the operation and waveforms of op amp band pass and band stop filters
- Define and discuss oscillators
- Build various op amp oscillator configurations
- Analyze various op amp oscillator configurations
- Describe op amp based summing amplifires
- Build op amp based summing amplifier circuits
- Build op amp based scaling amplifiers
- Explain the IC voltage regulator circuits
- Demonstrate the operation and waveforms of IC voltage regulator circuits
- Analyze the operation and waveforms of IC voltage regulator circuits
